Charity work
We aim to be the change we want to see.
Part of that is continuing to support local charities in different ways:
Fundraisers
Mobilising our network of small businesses we put together amazing product raffles full of sell-out prizes money can’t buy! Funds raised are donated to a chosen charity and also pay for the raffle items, in turn supporting a variety of small businesses. We’ve raised £3500+ for two South London charities this way: The Plattery, and Blueprint For All.
Free market spots
We realised that an easy way we can support the work of different charities is by offering up our platform to them for free. So we give away free spaces at our markets to charity and NFP causes like Pivot; who help young Londoners experiencing homelessness through jewellery making, and Flourish, that provides tailored long term support for survivors of modern slavery in Northern Ireland. Most recently we provided a free spot to South London business Book Love, who distribute kids books that centre around the important topics of diversity and inclusion.
Raising awareness
Word of mouth is a powerful tool, and with a super engaged community, half of which are based in London, a huge way we can help is by raising awareness of incredible causes in our local areas. We love championing and highlighting these causes across our Instagram channel to help them reach a wider audience of locals.
